When I collated the data for my observation that 6,100 Orange County businesses will fail in March 2012 alone, I could hardly believe I hadn’t made some kind of mistake. The real number could be closer to 7,000 business closing each month in Orange County.

Now 4 years into this Great Recession, California tops the business failure rate- 69% higher than the US average which is 40%. What a distinction. California is #1 in the nation for a small business to crash and burn because of current economic reality.
